There was a small hut called ‘Vayalvaaram” where Sree Narayana Guru was born in this house in the year 1032 ( August 1856) in the month of Chinjam (Malayalam Month) under the star “Chathayam”. {The thatched hut, which has three small dark rooms, in which the middle has a entrance to the front.} His father was Maadan (Maadan Aasan). His mother was Kuttiamma. They had four children, one boy (Guru) and three girls.. Sree Narayana College at Chempazhanthy was established by Sree Narayana Trusts, Kollam, in the name of the great social reformer Shri Narayana Guru in 1964.
